School of Filmmaking and Photography

Pittsburgh Filmmakers' School of Filmmaking and Photography offers courses in filmmaking, photography, video production, digital media, and the history and theory of all of those forms.

Whether you are a traditional college student or looking for an alternative education, Filmmakers' School has a program for you. Our goal is to help you develop a strong aesthetic, analytical, and technical foundation on which you can build as you become working artists and professionals. College students and independent students can enroll in our college-level classes. For a professional, full-immersion education, students can apply to one of our eight-month Intensive programs in filmmaking or photography.

Pittsburgh Filmmakers' School of Filmmaking and Photography is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). Classes, workshops, and seminars are taught at our building at 477 Melwood Avenue, in North Oakland, near the corner of Baum Boulevard and North Craig Street.
