Give in 2012

Dear Friend,

The year has flown by at Pittsburgh Filmmakers and Pittsburgh Center for the Arts where, everyday, we strive to bring you opportunities in the visual arts. From our education programs to exhibition and membership, our mission is to be the place you visit to make and see art. Like you, we believe art enhances the quality of life for everyone.

This year, we have had the opportunity to work with some exceptional local artists:.

Max, a 10 year-old Youth Media artist extraordinaire, is using After Effects to make HD videos, duplicate images, and replace green screen background to tell his own stories. He’s even helping to teach his classmates...

Flight School fellow and independent artist Kelli was chosen for an August Wilson Center Fellowship and for an Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh grant within 6 months of completing our professional development program. For the first time in her career, she was able to transition to a full-time art practice..

A Pittsburgh Filmmakers photography scholarship recipient recently told us,“Not to be dramatic, but if you ever thought about really having an effect on changing someone's life, you just have.”.

After attending the PCA Children’s program, one mother told us, “Audrey… now declares herself an Artist. . . and wants to donate all the money in her piggy bank to the governor so he will have more to give to artists. Thank you for helping to instill in Audrey an even greater love of the arts that will hopefully last a lifetime!".

Brian Cohen, Marcellus Shale Documentary Project founder and photographer, said, “Working with PF/PCA on this project enabled me to take an ambitious idea – a dream – and make it real. Working as a team, we have been able to extend our goals to reach a national audience.".

Please help us continue providing opportunities in the arts to creators of all ages and experience, in our studios, galleries, and 50 partner schools. Help us provide our community with a forum for the open exchange of ideas and inspiration both onsite and online. This year, as you reflect on what is important and meaningful, we hope you will consider supporting Pittsburgh Filmmakers and Pittsburgh Center for the Arts with a tax deductible donation..
