Part of the Martin Scorsese Presents Polish Masterpieces Series

A sensation at Cannes and recipient of numerous awards, this film opened the door to an international career for director Kieślowski (The Decalogue, The Three Color Trilogy). He died less than 10 years later, at age 54. The film is a psychological and ethical study of murder, which begins on a somber March day when the paths of three men cross.
