Art Adventures Together (ages 2-3 w/adult)

Making art together is a wonderful way to spend time with a child. With adult guidance, children engage in art activities using paint, paper, markers and clay. Each child must be accompanied by one adult. Fee is for one child and one adult.

Art Around the World (ages 4-6)

Experiment with color and paint what you see in the world around you. Take a trip around the world and use what you see as inspiration for different hands-on projects. Recreate some of the artifacts and art objects you learn about on your journey.

Claymaking (ages 6-9)

Experience the joy of working with clay. Instructor guides and supports the class in making their own handbuilt creations while encouraging creativity to shine through. Create your own pieces that are functional or whimsical. All pieces will be glazed and fired.

Wheelthrown Ceramics (ages 9-14)

Learn to create pots, bowls, mugs and more in this fun introduction to making pottery on the wheel. Preparing the clay, using clay tools, centering, throwing cylinders and bowls, as well as glazing and decorating techniques covered. Firing processes and clay properties also discussed.

Perfect Portraits (ages 9-14)

You are the inspiration for this class! Follow in the rich tradition of our master artists by looking to the self-portrait for inspiration. Learn the basic techniques for rendering the human face. Work from your own face as well as the faces of your friends and family to develop your skills as a young artist. Drawing and painting techniques will be covered.

Animation for Kids (ages 5-7)

This studio course will nurture the creative spirit of young children by allowing them to experiment with the art form of animation. Focusing on the manner in which younger children exhibit curiosity regarding the moving image, they will be guided through a step-by-step process leading to a final animation project burned onto a DVD. All children will work with paper materials, digital cameras and computers, while being encouraged to let their young minds explore the imaginative possibilities of animation.
