Exploring Poetry - Just for Teens!

It’s difficult to translate the raw world into poetry, to find the words that demand attention. Discover more about how to write through reading and workshops. In the profanity of Allan Ginsberg, the pain of Nick Flynn, and the playfulness of Pablo Neruda (not to mention other poets, including your peers), exists a similarity: the desire to write. Specifically constructed for beginning and continuing poets between ages 13 and 16, this class will offer a safe, uncensored environment in which to further explore and develop ones poetic voice. Please bring paper and a writing utensil.

Learn to model with Super Sculpey, a firm sculpting clay that’s great for carving fine detail. Animation For the Very Young (ages 5-7)

This studio course will nurture the creative spirit of young children by allowing them to experiment with the art form of animation. Focusing on the manner in which younger children exhibit curiosity regarding the moving image, they will be guided through a stepby- step process leading to a final animation project burned onto a DVD. All children will work with paper materials, digital cameras and computers, while being encouraged to let their young minds explore the imaginative possibilities of animation.
