Through the accumulation of audience-generated data, Plume is an immersive, interactive dome of synchronized light and sound gestures. The installation uses motion, sound and color to present an ephemeral and ethereal ecosystem. New York-born, Pittsburgh-based multimedia artist, Ian Brill, says the cinematic form and character of Plume emerges as a pervasive personality from the darkness of the otherwise unlit installation space, and addresses our footprint on this planet and beyond. Brill earned his MFA at Penn State University in new media.
