Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts (PF/PCA) provides opportunities and environments that encourage an open exchange of images and ideas to foster our vibrant community of artists. CREATE 2015 Art & Technology Festival - Call for Participants

CREate is the next iteration of Pittsburgh’s seventh annual Design, Art and Technology event. CREATE (Changing Realities and Experiences through Art and Technology Explorations) is a three-day festival, featuring the most exciting and innovative debuts in Creative Technology.

Alloy Pittsburgh - Call for Proposals

Alloy Pittsburgh is a unique visual and performing arts project co-founded by Pittsburgh artists Sean Derry and Chris McGinnis. The project was developed in collaboration with the Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area and the Kipp Gallery at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Alloy Pittsburgh offers 15 emerging artists from the greater Pittsburgh region the opportunity to develop temporary site-based artworks for the Carrie Furnace National Historic Landmark.

Lens Culture - Portrait Awards 2015

The LensCulture Portrait Awards is the 2nd annual call for international portrait photography. The importance of portraiture is present in cultures across the world, illustrating the power and endurance of human connection. With over 145 countries represented on LensCulture, in over 15 languages, we’re seeking new global perspectives on the modern day portrait. This is an open call for portrait photography from around the world. 6 Winners and 25 Finalists will be chosen.

PDN Photo Annual - Call for Submissions

PDN accepts entries from individual photographers, as well as photo editors, art directors, art producers, book publishers and other creatives, inviting all from the photo industry to participate. We also have a student category, honoring young photographers who want to get their work in front of judges early.

A Fair in the Park 2015 - Call for Artists

The 46th annual A Fair in the Park is now accepting applications for fine art and craft exhibitors. Presented by the Craftsmen's Guild of Pittsburgh, the weekend fair is held neighboring the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.

Sweetwater Center for the Arts - Call for Artists

Deadline: 
March 16

Sweetwater Center for the Arts is now accepting submissions for Shaping New Worlds, an exhibition of Constructed Photography juried by Lori Kella. Open to all artists residing within the U.S. working with the constructed image by means of handmade montage, collage, darkroom manipulation, computer manipulation, constructed and photographed tableaux or dioramas, and/or alteration of real scenes, etc.

Pittsburgh Filmmakers First Works Grant

Deadline: 
March 20

The Pittsburgh Filmmakers First Works Grant is designed to assist beginning film and video makers in creating a polished first work, which can then be used as a sample work to secure future funding. Grants may be used to either complete works in progress or to create new works. Funds will be given directly to the artist and must be spent on the production of non-commercial independent films or videos. The maximum individual grant is $1000 or the total project budget, whichever is less.

Philadelphia Convention Center - Call for Artists

The Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority (PCCA) is proud to publicly launch its Expansion Art Acquisition Project, a 60-day “Open Call” competition to acquire more than $1.2 million in original works by Pennsylvania-based artists.
