Filmmaking Intensive at Pittsburgh Filmmakers:
The Filmmaking Intensive is an eight-month accelerated program that develops the creative talents of aspiring filmmakers. This professional program involves full immersion in all aspects of film and video production and prepares the student for a career in the industry. Students support each other’s work by serving as crew members while gaining valuable experience by working in a variety of roles. Upon completion, students will receive a diploma and will leave with a portfolio of their own creative work. A public screening of graduates’ advanced work will be held each Spring.Photography Intensive at Pittsburgh Filmmakers:
The Photography Intensive, which begins Fall 2014, is an eight-month accelerated program that develops the creative talents of aspiring photographers. This professional program involves full immersion in all aspects of photography as well as an introduction to video production. The focus of the program is to prepare students for a successful career in the field. Through numerous individual assignments and group studio projects students will cover all aspects of photography from the creative beginning to the technical end product. Upon completion, students will receive a diploma and will leave with a portfolio of their own creative work. A public exhibition of graduates’ advanced work will be held each spring.Pittsburgh Filmmakers Classes:
Pittsburgh Filmmakers offers classes in all phases of film, photography, and video production including scriptwriting, pre-production and budgeting, camerawork, processing, printing, lighting, sound, editing, color management, directing, and producing. Courses are semester long and can be taken on a non-credit basis for independent students. Some classes are offered as “short courses” for 4-weeks.Pittsburgh Center for the Arts Classes:
The PCA School offers a variety of art classes and workshops for all ages and learning levels. Children, teens, and adults enjoy introductory, intermediate, and advanced classes in both 2D and 3D fine arts, media arts, photography, and filmmaking. Classes are run in four terms per year - fall, winter, spring and summer, and courses can be one to eight sessions long.
