HOLIDAY SHOP OPENING & GALLERY RECEPTION
November 17 at 5:30pm
HOLIDAY HOURS BEGIN NOVEMBER 18, 2005
Tuesday-Saturday: 10am-7pm, Sunday: noon-5
The annual Holiday Shop at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts will open on Thursday, November 17, at 5:30 p.m. along with the opening of several
new exhibits. We are currently seeking new consignment artists to complement the existing mix of work represented in the Shop at the Pittsburgh
Center for the Arts. Only artists working within a 150 mile radius of the Center will be considered.
A screening for new artists will be held on Sunday, October 30th in Simmons Hall at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. To participate, please
contact Jen Carter, Shop Manager, to sign up for the screening. On the day of the screening, artists should drop off a representation of their
work between 10 and 11 a.m. and be prepared to pick up their work between 2 and 3 p.m. that same day. If your work is chosen for the Holiday Shop
2005, a $25 set-up fee will payable to the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts on or before November 10, 2005, in addition to an executed Consignment Agreement
and a completed inventory sheet.
Quality of work as well as the diversity of the work in comparison to existing shop artists will drive the Screening Committee’s decision as to who
to include in Holiday Shop 2005. We are particularly interested in ornaments, Judaica, gifts for men, and gifts for kids.
The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts is a non-profit arts organization located in the neighborhood of Shadyside. As a community arts organization,
the Center offers studio art classes and workshops; exhibits work by contemporary regional artists, promotes and sells artists’ work, and provides
school- and community-based education programs.
