Library Conversation Series: An Introduction to the Pittsburgh Film Office with Jessica Conner

Jessica Conner, the Assistant Director of the Pittsburgh Film Office will provide an introduction to the Film Office and discuss the ways in which local filmmakers, crew, actors can benefit from using them as a resource for location scouting, job hunting, finding crew and actors, and much more. She will also talk about how the Film Office supports and propels the growth of the local film industry by cooperating with small businesses and government to draw productions to the region.

Jessica has been with the Pittsburgh Film Office since 2001. She has worked with dozens of feature film, television and commercial projects that have come into the southwestern Pennsylvania region. She is on the committee of the Pittsburgh 48-Hour Film Project and for the past two years she has worked to successfully bring the national Production Assistant Training Seminar (P.A.T.S.) to Pittsburgh and helped to train over 150 future production assistants from local colleges and universities. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Communications and a minor in Film Studies. She also has a master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Point Park University. She is a native of Pittsburgh, PA.
