Alternative Process Workshop: Blues and Browns

Workshop Dates: 6/4, 6/11, 6/18, 7/2, 8/6

In this workshop students learn or review several printing out processes including traditional cyanotype, Mike Ware’s cyanotype, Vandyke brown and salt printing. In addition, students are encouraged to experiment with multiple printing several processes. Making enlarged digital negatives from scans or camera files is covered extensively in the class. The workshop is intended for both beginning and experienced alternative process students. Everyone works on self -directed projects, creating a portfolio of work by the end of the semester. The instructor works directly with students for four class sessions at the beginning of the workshop and meets with students again during the last class to evaluate their finished work. Students have access to the facilities for 10 weeks and are encouraged to work together during unsupervised lab sessions. Tuition for this non-credit workshop is $225.
