Jenny Marketou was born in
Athens,Greece, and lives in New York City. She teaches photography at The Cooper
Union School of Art. She studied at the Corcoran School of Art ,Washington,D.C.
She completed a Master of Fine Arts at Pratt Institute in New York and embraced
reality. Since the early 90's, she upholds creativity, enjoys some attention,
and travels around the world. In the mid 90's, she immersed herself in new media
and internet technologies to create art. Jenny's work has been seen internationally,
with solo and group exhibitions in Athens, Rotterdam, Berlin, Basel, Dusseldorf,
Tel Aviv,J erusalem, London, Mexico City, Vancouver, Valencia, Washington, D.C.,
and New York City, among others. In 1997 she was awarded an artists residency
at The Banff Centre for the Arts, Alberta, Canada. In 1998 she received The Resident
Artist fellowship in Creative Research in Arts and Technology from ISA, Arizona
State University, Tempe, AZ. and most recently she is a Fellow in Residence at
the Ateliers Hoherweg in Dusseldorf ,Germany.
