Greyworld is a group of sound installation artists who create urban sound environments. Created five years ago in Paris, the group has exhibited its works throughout Europe and the Far East. Most recent exhibitions include High Definition, in Hong Kong, Sub.Merge in Liverpool, and a show at the Barbican Art Gallery in London. Greyworld, with Tim Cole from SSEYO, gave the Plenary lecture at the 9th International Symposium on Electronic Arts in September and will be involved in the German Millennium celebrations in Berlin. Greyworld's work is conceived to be integrated into an urban context with relationship to architecture, sound and people. Greyworld's work is mainly placed in areas between the functional urban spaces - living spaces, working spaces, leisure spaces. In Greyworld's sound installations, visitors do not find themselves confronted with a finished work of art. They find themselves within the work itself where they can experience it through their own activity and changes in their attention and perspective.
