Trite and True: the Art/Craft Conversation

Pittsburgh Center for the Arts welcomes you to partake in a stimulating conversation about the nature, relationship, differences and overlaps of Art and Craft.

The purpose of the PCA’s ::Dialogue:: series is to cultivate interest and engagement in critical dialogue of contemporary art and culture in both the Pittsburgh arts community and beyond.

The night’s focus will be on the Art/Craft conversation. This discourse reverberates in both academic settings and in the professional art world. A reoccurring conversation with no ultimate resolve, this topic produces a difficult polarity of concept against form throughout an artist's career. This particular discussion will involve four individuals who make, judge, and evaluate within the professional art world, in which the ambiguous relationship of Art and Craft is in constant play.
Thursday, May 13 from 5-7pm.

Free and open to the public.

Cash bar opens at 5:00 pm ($2 beer). Discussion begins at 6:00 pm.
