Open Call for Artists, Makers and Technologists for Assemble’s 2016 Season of Unblurred

Assemble is accepting proposals for the 2016 season of Unblurred, Penn Avenue’s First Friday Gallery Crawl, now through April 26, 2015.

Selected makers will have their work displayed at Assemble, located at 5125 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.

Work related to new media art, process art, design, architecture, science and engineering, installation, interaction and social engagement are highly encouraged. In addition to a month-long show at Assemble, all selected artists/makers/technologists will have various engaging experiences, workshops, and classes for our neighbors of Garfield to learn about their process.

About Assemble:  Assemble unites artists, technologists, and makers with Pittsburghers of all demographics by providing a platform for experiential learning, opening creative processes, and building confidence through making.  Assemble hosts affordable classes focused on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) principles, interactive gallery shows, and learning parties, both in its space and at events throughout Pittsburgh. Assemble is located at 5125 Penn Avenue in the Garfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

About Unblurred: Each month, people from all over the region stroll Penn Avenue between the 4800 and 5500 blocks to meet with artists and local business owners.  Visitors get to enjoy Penn Avenue’s creative energy – experiencing a mix of photography, dance, painting, sculpture, music, spoken word performances, and more.
