VSA arts (formerly Very Special Arts) of Pittsburgh was established in 1998 through the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and is presently the largest VSA arts program in the state. VSA arts of Pittsburgh provides visual and performing art experiences to persons with disabilities in the western Pennsylvania area. Currently, VSA arts of Pittsburgh serves over 500 people with disabilities ranging in age from 3 to 90. Each year, VSA arts of Pittsburgh celebrates the work of its participants with an art exhibition and highly publicized community festival.
